Traveling should be fun
Travelling is fun. The idea of moving from one location to another distant location for fun, business, learning etc., is always exciting. Sometimes, this excitement could be dampened by the stress of luggage. Things like, the downside of finding your luggage, towing it through the airport or street, opening and showing it to security, all these could be so stressful.
Any Solutions anyone…
A Beijing-based company, ForwardX Robotics has come up with a solution, called Ovis Suitcase, a vision-powered side-follow carry-on that follows you autonomously, enabling a true hands-free & worry-free travel. Through a series of complex AI algorithms, this suitcase has the ability to not only “see” as we do but comprehend what it is seeing. Its technology includes side-follow movement of about 2 meters distance from the scanned owner, a GPS tracking module for location to always be found, weight sensor that measures luggage in real time and a manual mode for escalators and stairs when it needs to be carried.
…the way forward
Individuals who have different ranges of mobility and ability would likely welcome this new development, and if this technology can open up travel opportunities and has the potential to ease the travel burden for disabled or older folks.
